Ever wonder what right you have to be here? When others pass away and leave this world far too soon for our grieving hearts, we tend to wonder if God got it wrong this time. Why should I be permitted this existence when someone else has been robbed of theirs?
For those who have suffered long battles, their journey of joy begins in death. They are free from the pain they have had to endure in this life. And we are left with a void.
“Blessed are those who suffer … for their pain will turn into joy.” John 16:20
For those who have only moments on this earth, born too early or afflicted, we are left empty when they are taken from us far too soon. They are our eternal angels.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13
For those who have lived fully, and walked this earth awhile, yet are called home, leaving loved ones behind. We fumble to figure out how to move forward with a heaviness of heart.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die …” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
And so we ask … why me? Why am I permitted to stay?
And God says:
“For I know the plans I have for you … plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
